Zagreb Baroque Festival

The Baroque Festival is held each year as part of the Summer Evenings Series in Zagreb. Almost 30 concerts take place in Zagreb at different venues around the city, including the St Catherine's Church and the beautiful Zagreb Cathedral.

Performers from all over the world - Italy, Finland, France, Belgium and the UK all add to the music event as well as Croatia's native talent. Visitors are invited to travel through music history with the enchanting sounds and sights of baroque, using period instruments and authentic interpretations. Spiritual music performances and old recitals are also held during the festival.

Zagreb, Croatia's capital, is a great destination for a low-cost weekend city break in New Europe. It is a fantastic choice because so few tourists have discovered the city but also because there is lots to see. Zagreb’s highlights include the 19th-century neo-Gothic cathedral; the old town on the hill; the food and antique markets, and the amazing symmetrical cemetery. Zagreb also has an abundance of cafes and bars and offers a lively nightlife.

Zagreb is often compared to Vienna, and although there are many bars and restaurants, the city is not a popular stag or hen party destination. The city is great for visitors who wish to walk the cobbled streets, popping into museums, art galleries and bars whilst on their travels. Cheap flights are available to Zagreb from many UK airports, and incredible accommodation deals are on offer throughout the city, making it a fantastic short city break destination.
