Dogs allowed in all public places in Tuscany

A new law, which is due to come into force by June, will allow dogs, cats and all other domesticated animals to accompany their owners in most public places in Tuscany, Italy. Pets will be allowed to visit the museums, art galleries, theatres, cinemas, beaches and even restaurants as from June this year. The law has been passed to coincide with regional regulations forbidding animal discrimination and cruelty to animals.

So if you are planning a trip to Tuscany and don't want to leave your faithful friends at home, as from June it is likely that you won't have to.

Holiday makers visit Tuscany for many reasons. It is one of the most beautiful and popular regions in Italy, and is located in Central Italy along the Mediterranean Coast. It is a hilly region with olive groves and cypress trees that make way here and there for sleepy villages and medieval hill towns.

The exquisite art galleries and museums of Tuscany are popular with those seeking a cultural break. Depending on your interests in history, art or sculpture - Tuscany has it all, spanning across time, styles and periods. Many guesthouses offer painting holidays which are also popular, as the natural beauty of Tuscany makes a great backdrop for an artist's work. Cooking holidays are also offered, with cooking classes taking place right across the regions. The area produces fine wine and foods, which makes the dining and cooking popular past times for both visitors and locals of Tuscany.

Tuscany is host to many great events, including food festivals, music events and street carnivals. Most of the events take place in Summer due to the fantastic weather, which makes it the best time to visit the area.

Farmhouses and small guesthouses offer a cozy place to stay when in Tuscany, whilst there is also a selection of apartments and hotels in the Florence and Pisa resorts.
